What kind of multi-shop inventory management capabilities are available with Tekmetric Multi-Shop?
At this time, the following multi-shop inventory functionality is available for Tekmetric Multi-Shop users:
- Other Shops' Inventory Tab
- Inventory Search Across Shops
How does the Other Shops' Inventory tab work?
The Other Shops' Inventory tab provides a new, centralized view of inventory stocked at other shops within the organization, enabling visibility into parts that are not stocked at the current location. This feature makes it easier for you to identify alternative sources for parts that may be out of stock locally or to locate items carried only at specific locations.
Accessing the Other Shops' Inventory Tab
- Navigate to the Inventory page within Tekmetric.
- Click on the Other Shops' Inventory tab to view inventory data from other shops within the organization.
Note: The Other Shops' Inventory tab is a view-only list. You can see inventory details across locations but cannot click to view more information on parts or perform any secondary actions.
Searching for Parts
The Other Shops' Inventory tab offers a Search feature, allowing you to locate specific parts quickly by brand, part name, or part number. This search capability enables you to pinpoint exactly where needed parts are available within the organization’s network.
Using Filters
To help you locate specific inventory items across shops, the Other Shops' Inventory tab includes several filtering options:
- Status: Filter by stock status, including:
- Below Min Stock: Parts falling below minimum stock thresholds.
- Out of Stock: Parts that are not currently stocked at the selected shop.
- Above Max Stock: Parts exceeding maximum stock levels.
- Shop Name: Select a specific shop(s) to see its available inventory or view inventory from all locations.
- Part Type: Filter by category (e.g., Tires, Brakes, Battery) to focus on specific types of parts.
How does the Inventory Search Across Shops feature work?
This feature allows Tekmetric Multi-Shop users to easily search for specific parts across the inventory of all other shops within their organization.
Users will have access to a "Search" option in the following locations within inventory in a shop:
In the Other Shops column on the Inventory Table:
Within the Stock Count section of an Inventory Part Profile, beneath the Other Shops label:
If users select this "Search" option on a specific inventory part, Tekmetric will kick off a search across the inventory of all other shops within the Multi-Shop organization that the shop is a part of. The following criteria is used in the search:
- Part Number
- Alternate Part Number(s)
All matches will be displayed in a results modal, where users can see Shop, Part Info, Available Count, and Cost for each result.
