Often times, it is difficult to explain vehicle repairs to non-technical customers, especially when you are trying to explain over the phone or via email. MotoVisuals is a cloud-based library containing hundreds of repair animations that explain to car owners (motorists) what certain parts of their vehicles do, and the importance of getting them repaired. This integration will allow you win more in your business, save service writers time in explaining why vehicle repairs are so important, and educate your customers by building trust.
This article will review how you can set up the MotoVisuals integration within your shop.
Sign up Flow
In order to sign-up with MotoVisuals, you will need to:
- Navigate to Shop Settings > Integration page.
- Select “Sign Up” on the MotoVisuals integration box.
- Review pricing and terms and conditions.
- Register for an account. Note: Even if you already have MotoVisuals, you will still need to register through Tekmetric in order to use the integration. If you are a TechNet member, please contact support@tekmetric.com for more information.
Once you finalize your registration, the integration will show that it is in-progress. Our billing team will add this integration to your subscription, then activate your account. This can take up to 1-2 business days.

Set up DVI templates
Once our team activates the integration, you will receive an email notifying you to begin setting up your digital vehicle inspections (DVIs) with MotoVisuals.
- Navigate to the inspection tab on the left menu bar and select the DVI you want to edit.
- You can add one MotoVisuals video for every task in a DVI template (see below). Select Add Video, and the video catalog will appear. You can search by typing the vehicle part, or through the catalog shown.

Once you select and add the video, it will be linked to the DVI task.

MotoVisuals Videos within the Repair Order(s)
If a service writer needs to view the linked MotoVisuals video from within Tekmetric, they can do so on the Inspection that is added to the RO. If they click View Educational Video, a modal will appear with the video.

MotoVisuals within the Inspection/Estimate Link
If a technician marks an inspection task red or yellow, then the MotoVisuals video will appear on the customer’s inspection or estimate links. If the task with the linked video is marked green or was never inspected, it will not appear on the links sent to the customers. You do not want to bombard the customer with all the videos on the DVI, but rather have the customer focus on what needs to be repaired.

Other Information
- The videos on the customer facing links (inspection and estimate), expire after 30 days of being sent by default. This is a requirement from the MotoVisual's team.
- MotoVisuals can not be setup at the MSO level. You will need to set it up within every shop.
- When MotoVisuals gets disconnected or cancelled, the links will be removed from all DVIs, including the posted ROs.
