Overview
Managing inventory effectively is crucial for shop operations. Discrepancies in pricing and quantity can sometimes occur, leading to potential inefficiencies and the need for corrective actions. To help shops track these changes and improve overall inventory management, we have introduced the Inventory Activity Feed. This new feature allows shops to monitor key changes made to inventory parts, identify and rectify errors, and enhance operational efficiency and employee training initiatives.
How to Use the Inventory Activity Feed
Accessing the Inventory Activity Feed
(NEW) Shop-Level Feed

To view changes across all inventory parts:
- Click on Shop Dashboard in the left-hand navigation.
- Click on Activity Feed in the header.
- Navigate to the Inventory tab.
Requires "Can view/export all Employee Reports; can view global activity feed" enabled in your User Permissions.
Part-Level Feed

To view changes for a specific part:
- Click on Inventory in the left-hand navigation.
- Select the part you want to investigate from your inventory list.
- Click on Activity Feed in the History section.
Requires "Can view inventory parts, order history and activity" enabled in your User Permissions.
The feed will display a list of the most recent changes to inventory parts. Each entry includes details such as the part number, description, change type, user who made the change, and the date and time of the change.
Types of Changes
The following events will be tracked:
Manual Changes:
- A shop employee manually changes the quantity in-stock
- A shop employee manually changes the unit cost
- A shop employee manually changes the retail price
- A shop employee manually creates a part

Automated Updates:
- A shop employee creates a stock order, which adds a new inventory part
- A shop employee moves a part into inventory from Returns or PartsHub
- A purchase order cost update is automatically synced to the inventory



Important Notes
- This feed will be forward facing, meaning we will not retroactively display data for actions conducted before this release
