In Tekmetric, when a user shares the inspection, estimate, or invoice via text, we send a default message along with the link(s). The following messages get sent by default:

Share Inspection via text, we send "Hello, your vehicle has been inspected at <Shop Name>. Please review the results in the link below {Inspection Link}

Share Estimate via text, we send "Hello, your estimate from <Shop Name> is ready {Estimate Link}

Share Invoice via text, we send "Hello, your invoice from <Shop Name> is ready {Invoice Link}
However, if you are on our Scale tier and have two-way texting (Tekmessage) enabled, you can customize the verbiage of the texts sent. This article will review how to adjust these templated texts.
Set up Two-Way Texting via Tekmessage Integration
If you are on our Scale tier and haven't done so, be sure you setup two-way texting in your shop. For more information, visit this article.
Adjust Verbiage for Inspection, Estimate or Invoice Texts
If you have two-way texting enabled and have Shop Settings permissions, you will click the message icon on the top right of your browser. Click the three dots on the top right of the sidebar, and select Message Templates.
Once the modal appears, select the second tab Default. Here, you will find the Share Inspection, Share Estimate, Share Invoice templates listed on the left side of the modal.
These 3 template names can not be adjusted because these texts are hardcoded and automatically sent out when service writers share the estimate, inspection, or invoice from within an RO.
Here, you can adjust the messaging to fit your shop's communication needs. Please note, if you delete any of the link placeholders, you can add them from the Personalization menu.
Personalization menu
You can add personalization to your template message. A drop down menu appears with the following options:
- Shop Name
- First Name
- First and Last Name
- Link associated with that template
If you select one of these placeholders, we will insert the tag where you left the mouse cursor within the message field. If the cursor is not in the message field, the personalization placeholder gets added to the end of the existing text. You can adjust the placement by copy/paste actions.
Sending Texts from Repair Order
Once you save your template message, we will automatically send your version of the text when service writers share the inspection, estimate, or invoice texts to the customer, rather than the Tekmetric default.
However, we will also give service writers a chance review and adjust the text from within the RO, if needed.
