New Feature: See Who’s Editing a Job on an Estimate
To help your team stay in sync and avoid accidentally overwriting each others’ work, Tekmetric now shows you when someone else is editing a job on an estimate.
Justin, a Product Manager at Tekmetric, shares more details about this new feature in the video below:
🔍 What’s New?
When you view an estimate and someone else is already editing a job, a red banner will appear at the top of that job. Here’s an example showing that George M. is editing this spark plug job:

If you see the banner, check in with your teammate before making changes. This will help prevent accidental overwrites and keep your team in sync.
✅ Why We Built It
We heard that not knowing who was editing a job was leading to frustrating mistakes and customer confusion. We explored several ways to solve this problem, including locking the repair order or adding pop-up warnings when someone is editing, but we want to disrupt your fast-paced workflow as little as possible. We designed this banner to prompt conversations without getting in your way.
💡 Pro Tip: Make It a Habit
Use this banner as a starting point for a quick in-person chat or radio call before jumping into edits. A 10-second check-in might save 10 minutes of cleanup later.
