If I create a Repair Order today, can the creation date be changed to a previous date? No, the date is hardcoded but you can adjust the time in/ time out in the grey sidebar.
Where does the fluids, filters, and blades data populate from? That data is provided by MOTOR. Please make sure that the VIN is decoded correctly!
Is there a setting available to turn off notifications for Tekmetric? As of now, the notifications are connected to the number in the employee profile.
How far back does the Tekmetric Labor Guide go back? As of now, the labor guide is populated by MOTOR and the farthest date is 1984.
Can Tekmetric decode custom license plates? As of now custom license plates cannot be decoded, however, you can use the VINs.

Can I copy a job from one repair order to another? No, but you can make the job a canned job and then add it to a new repair order.
What is the difference between integrated and non-integrated? Integrated payments are made with the terminal and non-integrated are not connected to Tekmetric Payments.
Can I void Tekmetric Payments transaction? As of now, there is not a way to void.
I enter the correct VIN, however, the wrong vehicle is showing, how do I fix? If the incorrect information is displaying, please try and enter the vehicle manually.
Can an employee be added to multiple shops? Yes! Any employee can be added to multiple shops.
How many employees can be at one shop? There is no limit on employees.
What oil sticker printers are recommended for Tekmetric? We see a majority of shops use DMYO, ZEBRA, and GODEX.
Why do I have a negative amount under my payments in the end of day report? If there are multiple transactions and one of them is a refund, it will balance the two payments. Sometimes this is creates a negative amount.
Why do my end of day and payment details not match? End of day is based on posted date and payment details shows all transactions made during the date range selected.
I want to be able to see all of the current ROs on my job board at a glance. Where can I find this information? You can use filters or the shop dashboard!
Does the shipping and tax come over when adding a part from PartsTech? As of now, the shipping and tax does not come over. It would have to be manually added. Shops can up their parts matrix if need be or add a fee for shipping on the repair order.
How do I change my bank in Tekmetric Payments? You can do so by going to the "Payments" section and selecting "Account". Then login to see or change information.
Can I split the commission between two service writers? As of now, it is only one commission per employee.
How do I track shop supplies in Tekmetric? As of now, the best way is to open a repair order and call it shop supplies to track or keep track of the items within the inventory.
Can I track overhead expenses within Tekmetric? As of now, those can be handled outside of Tekmetric, but we do have a feature request for this here.

Can I use text-to-pay to send multiple invoices in total? The only text-to-pay option for multiple Repair Orders is in the A/R(Accounts Receivable) report if they do a Card Not Present, but the customer will not see it.
Can I have multiple customer or inventory downloads? Yes, you just have to follow the format for each one and then upload it to the datamigration@tekmetric.com address!
Can you return a part from a previous software that is in inventory? Yes, but you would need to create a purchase order for it.
Do messages pop up on the Tekmetric screen or just give notification on the message box? It shows a badge on the Tekmessage icon at the top, and sounds like "ding."
Does SpeedDial work on a Mac or apple products? Yes! Sometimes there is a few items that must be enabled to work, however, please ensure that you are using the correct settings and browser!
How long does it take for data to flow over to Carfax? This process can take up to ten days after the RO posted date.
If you delete an employee, do they still show up in reports? Yes! Tekmetric does not delete data from reports.
Why is tax not showing on my jobs on the estimate? It could be due to the job being a canned job!
Does Tekmetric have an inventory evaluation report or a report that shows inventory from a specific time? Tekmetric does not have an inventory report, however, the best reports to use are Parts Purchased and Parts Usage. There is a feature request for inventory reporting here.
Can I setup notifications when work orders are updated? Within Tekmetric there are a few places to enable notifications for service writers and technicians, however, for when work orders are changed and status updates, it is best to use Slack!
Can we set up notifications when the repair order (RO) label is changed? As of now, there is not a way to automate notifications based on labels. Most shops we work with utilize Slack and configure it for notifications.
How do I return an ordered part that I have not received due to the part being out of stock or discontinued? As of now, you would need to delete the order and then create a new purchase order for the parts that are in stock. This way, you can track them in your inventory correctly.
Is there a way to print all the repair orders in the work in progress section? As of now, the only way to do this is to have the job board displayed as a list view and then screenshot the page. We do have a feature request here.
How do I find my Tekmetric ID? It is located in shop settings > shop profile > Tekmetric URL.
Why can I not send my repair order to A/R? Make sure that the green complete work button has been selected in the work in progress tab.
Can we add custom columns in Tekmetric? Although you cannot add custom labels, you can add custom RO statuses to better track your vehicles!

Is there a way to edit or change the text statement in the accounts receivable statement? At this time, there is not a way to edit that field.
Is there a way to undo a deleted job on a repair order? As of now, there is not a way to undo a deleted job on a repair order, however, you can see when the job was deleted in the activity feed.
Is there a way to store customer credits or keep a credit on a customer profile? As of now, there is not a way to do so, however, there is a feature request currently in progress! You can check the status of it here!
Can I have a non-inventory item in Tekmetric? Or is there a way to have an item not count to the inventory? As of now, there is not a way to have a non-inventory item, however, there is a feature request for this here!
How do I un-authorize a job or undo an authorization? You can do so by navigating to the repair order and un-approving the job by clicking the green "thumbs up" icon. This will then allow the job to be re-opened.
Is there a way to reverse an authorization and decline the job? Yes! You can remove any approved job within the RO. Then if the job needs to be declined you can do so on behalf of the customer or the customer can decline one the estimate is sent.
Am I able to delete all of my return orders? As of now, you would have to go through each order as there is not a mass delete.
Can I create a canned counter sale? As of now, there is not a way to have a canned counter sale, but you can create them very quickly and keep them in progress if need be.
When adding a canned job to an existing job, what information is changed? The packaged price will change overall.
I accidentally changed the vehicle on the gray sidebar and it updated all my vehicles. How do I find out what the original vehicle was? You can go to an older repair order and view the PDF in their Auth History to see what the vehicle was at that time.
I am required to save parts removed from the vehicle, is there an option to do so? Yes! You can save parts within the gray sidebar within Tekmetric!

Why does the ARO on the End of Day report not match the real-time service writer AOR? Although there can be a few reasons due to the way the reports are calculated, the RO level fees and discounts NOT included in the Real-Time service writer report.
