In this article, we will go over how Gross Profit is calculated on a job in Tekmetric.
In the attachment, we have the technician assigned (Alex Bunkers). In her employee profile, we pay her $20 flat rate. We also have a part and a discount on the job (see below).
Gross Profit Percentage (GP% )
Calculated by [(Retail - Cost - Discount)/(Retail - Discount)] * 100
In this example attached:
- Retail is $100 + $40 = $140
- Cost is $20 for the hour Alex is working + $20 part cost ($20 + $20 = $40)
- Discount is $10
GP% for this job would be [(140 - 40 - 10)/(140 - 10)] * 100 = 69.23%
Gross Profit Dollar (GP$)
Calculated by (Retail - Cost - Discount)
In this example attached:
- Retail is $100 + $40 = $140
- Cost is $20 for the hour Alex is working + $20 part cost ($20 + $20 = $40)
- Discount is $10
GP$ for this job would be (140 - 40 - 10) = $90
Gross Profit Dollar per Hour (GP/hr)
Calculated by (Retail - Cost - Discount)/(Number of Hours)
In this example attached:
- Retail is $100 + $40 = $140
- Cost is $20 for the hour Alex is working + $20 part cost ($20 + $20 = $40)
- Discount is $10
- Hours on job is 1
GP$ for this job would be (140 - 40 - 10)/(1 Hr) = $90/hr
