When subscribed to Tekmetric Marketing, Tekmetric can automatically add a "Book Online" button to your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business). This allows customers to book appointments directly from your Google search listing and Maps page.
Important: Because this button is managed as a third-party integration, you cannot manually add, edit, or remove this link in Google. All changes must be processed through Tekmetric.
Adding or Removing the Button
Tekmetric automatically handles the connection between your shop's booking tool and Google.
To add or remove the button: Contact Tekmetric Support.
Multiple locations: If you have multiple shops, please include all applicable location names in your support request so we can process them together.
Seeing an error? If you attempt to add the link manually in Google, you will see a message stating: "This domain can't be added as a URL. Select third-party link to show with your listing automatically and can't be modified." This is expected behavior; simply reach out to our support team and we will add it for you.
Switching From Another Booking Tool
If you previously used a different booking tool (such as Shopgenie, AutoOps, Steer, etc.), you must remove the old integration before Tekmetric's link can take over.
Disable the old tool: Contact your previous provider (or use their self-service portal) to disable their Google Business Profile integration.
Activate Tekmetric: Once disabled, contact Tekmetric Support to let us know you are ready to add the Tekmetric booking button.
Timing & Temporary Workarounds
All changes take 24–48 hours. Whether you are adding, removing, or switching links, Google’s site crawler requires up to 48 hours to update your profile. It is completely normal for an old button to remain visible, or a new button to be missing, during this window.
Need to stop bookings immediately? While you wait for Google to update your profile, you can temporarily hide your availability from customers.
Navigate to Marketing > Online Booking.
Toggle off your available days.
Click Save. (Note: This prevents new appointments from being made, even if the "Book Online" button is still visible on Google).
