Tekmetric offers several methods of notifications to ensure that employees are notified correctly during different stages of the workflow process.
Verify Employee Account Information
Make sure that the employees have the correct phone number and email to ensure that information is being communicated properly. The employee can update their information at any time by navigating to Account Settings.
When Employees are Notified
Technician Notifications
- When a part is assigned to a job on an RO, technicians can receive an SMS notification notifying them that a part has been marked received and that the parts have arrived.
- Comments on a job in the Work-In-Progress section. Any employee in the shop can be notified by adding the person's name to the comment. This can be beneficial for open communication when the work is being completed on a job.
Note: Technicians can see the job once it is assigned to them via the Work-In-Progress tab on the RO. From here, the technician can see the job on the Job Board or Tech Board.
Service Writer Notifications
- Service Writers (Service Advisor) will get notified once the inspection or DVI inspection is complete via email. Then the Service Writer can begin the process of adding parts and labor to the estimate tab.
- Comments on a job in the Work-In-Progress section. Service Writers can also make these same comments and are good to use for back and forth communication on a job.
Note: Only the employee who created the note can edit it, however, if any other employee wants to make an note, they can.
- Service Writers will also be sent an email and SMS once an estimate has been approved by a customer. This will occur for all jobs approved throughout the process.
