Add-ons are extra Tekmetric products, like Repair Guide and Receptionist, that you can add to your shop. The Add-ons page in Billing is where you start a free trial, subscribe, or cancel, without contacting support.
Before you start
- Permission: You need the Shop Settings permission to start, subscribe to, or cancel an add-on. If you don't have it, ask your shop owner or an admin.
- Availability: Add-ons are rolling out to shops in phases. If you don't see the Add-ons page or a specific add-on yet, it hasn't been turned on for your shop.
Find the Add-ons page
- Select Billing.
- Select the Add-ons tab.
Add-ons you're using appear under Your add-ons. Other add-ons you can try appear under More add-ons. Each card shows what the add-on does, its monthly price per shop, and its current status.
What the statuses mean

Start a free trial
Every add-on starts with a 30-day free trial.
- On the Add-ons page, find the add-on and select Start free trial.
- Read the details in the window that opens. Some add-ons ask you to confirm terms first.
- Confirm to start your trial.
The add-on turns on right away. It moves up in your left menu, and the card shows how many trial days are left.
What happens when the trial ends: If you don't cancel, your shop is charged automatically using the card on file for your Tekmetric subscription. The first charge is a prorated amount that covers the rest of your current billing cycle. After that, the add-on is billed with your regular monthly Tekmetric bill.
Cancel during your free trial
- On the Add-ons page, select Cancel add-on on the card.
- Review what you'll lose when the trial ends.
- Optionally, choose a reason for canceling.
- Select Cancel add-on to confirm.
You keep the add-on until your trial ends, and you won't be charged. The card shows a Canceled badge and the date your access ends.
Changed your mind? Before the trial ends, select Subscribe on the card. Your trial keeps its original end date, and billing starts when the trial ends.
Cancel a paid add-on
- On the Add-ons page, select Cancel add-on on the card.
- Review what you'll lose.
- Optionally, choose a reason for canceling.
- Select Cancel add-on to confirm.
Access ends right away, and billing for the add-on stops - you'll receive a prorated refund for the unused time. The add-on moves back to More add-ons, where you can subscribe again any time.
Subscribe again
If you canceled or your trial ended, select Subscribe on the card. You'll be charged a prorated amount starting today, and your monthly bill increases by the add-on's price.
Note: Each shop gets one free trial per add-on. If you've used it, you can subscribe but can't start another trial.
FAQs
I don't see the Add-ons tab.
Check that you have the Shop Settings permission. If you do, the add-ons may not be available for your shop yet.
Whose card is charged?
The card on file for your Tekmetric subscription. You can't change the card from the Add-ons page.
I clicked Subscribe or Cancel and got an error.
Refresh the page and try again. If you see "Another add-on change is in progress," wait a moment and try again. If it keeps happening, contact Tekmetric Support.
