What is the Tire Fitment Data feature?
The Tire Fitment Data feature is part of the overall Tire Suite at Tekmetric. It's a feature that allows you to:
- Without ever leaving Tekmetric, quickly look up all tires that will fit a vehicle and source them in a variety of different ways:
- From your own Tekmetric inventory
- From your PartsTech tire suppliers
- From a generic tire fitment catalog
- Gain access to detailed tire specifications in the RO sidebar for a specific vehicle.
How do I turn this feature on?
To access this feature, you'll need to have the Tire Suite enabled in your shop. Go here for details on how to do that.
I have the Tire Suite on. Now what?
Once you turn on the Tire Suite in your shop, you automatically get access to the Tire Fitment Data feature!
Sourcing Tires on Jobs
Within the "Add Part" drop-down on a job, you will have access to the "Add tires from fitment data" option. This is the entry point for the feature.
When you select that option, a modal will appear like the one below. In order to see tire results, you must enter the tire size that you want to search for. This can be done using the Factory tab or Custom tab.
Within the Custom tab, you can enter in any tire size you want to search for. You can also enter in a minimum load index and speed rating for your search. If you want to search for a staggered tire set, you can select the "Add a different rear tire size" checkbox and enter search criteria for the rear tires.
Within the Factory tab, you will have the option of using Motor's tire fitment data to help with your search. These drop-downs will be populated with tire sizes that are specific to the vehicle on the RO. You'll be able to pick between OE, Plus Size, and Minus Sizes. If the vehicle is a staggered vehicle, Tekmetric automatically detects that and adds a separate rear tire size field to search for.
Once you enter your search criteria and select "search", you'll see search results and a few different options for sourcing your tires.
Inventory
The Inventory tab shows you all tires that are in your shop's inventory that match the search criteria you've entered. You can filter the search results by brand and can configure your brand preferences based on what you sell in your shop. If you a performing a staggered vehicle search, you'll see results for both tire sizes in the table.
You can also view more details on the specific tire, including images and specs by selecting the "Details" link on the tire.
Once you find the tire that you want to add to the job, you can select "add". This pulls the tire from inventory with the correct quantity and puts it on the job. See example below.
PartsTech
The PartsTech tab allows you to quote tires from your tire suppliers in PartsTech, all without ever leaving the Tekmetric estimate screen.
Within the left sidebar, you'll see all of your configured PartsTech tire suppliers. As you switch between these options, the tire search results in the main part of the table will change based on the supplier's inventory. You can filter the results by brand and availability.
Once you've quoted the tires you want using the "Quote" button in the modal, the tire will appear as quoted on the Tekmetric job. All you have to do from there is submit the order as usual and the tire will be ordered!
Tire Fitment Catalog
The final tab in the left sidebar is called the "Tire Fitment Catalog". This simply shows you the complete set of Motor tire results that will fit the vehicle on the RO based on your search criteria. It does not take into account your actual Tekmetric inventory or the inventory of any of your PartsTech tire suppliers, but instead serves as a "catalog" of what exists in the world based on your search.
You can select the Details link to see more details on these tires.
If you use the "Add" option in the Tire Fitment Catalog section, the tire will be added to the job as a "Needed" part.
Tire Fitment Data in the RO Sidebar
The Tire Fitment Data feature also gives you access to data in the RO sidebar related to tires. There's a new "Tires" section that contains vehicle-specific information on tires that will fit the vehicle.
