In Tekmetric, there are many different scenarios you may run into when managing RO’s and job history. In some cases you may run into a situation where an RO’s work history is in the incorrect spot.
In this article, we will discuss what to do in the following situations:
- An RO is on the correct customer, but the incorrect vehicle.
- An RO is on the incorrect customer, but correct vehicle.
- An RO is on the incorrect customer and incorrect vehicle.
Correct Customer / Incorrect Vehicle
- Browse to the RO.
- In the dark grey sidebar on the right, click the pencil icon next to Vehicle Info. This will open an Edit Vehicle Info window.

At the top of the window, use the Vehicle dropdown to choose the correct vehicle. If the correct vehicle is not present in the list, it can be added via the Edit Vehicle button just below the Vehicle dropdown.
- Click Save at the bottom of the window to save the vehicle.
Note: Note that you may receive a warning saying that “Jobs exist on this estimate which may include labor or parts that do not match this new vehicle.” Click Confirm to confirm your selection, or Cancel to cancel the operation.
Incorrect Customer / Correct Vehicle
- Browse to the RO.

In the dark grey sidebar on the right, under Customer Info, click on the customer’s name. This will take you to the customer’s profile.
- Click on the three action dots to the right of the vehicle.

Click Transfer Vehicle.
- Type in the name, phone, or email of the customer you want to transfer the vehicle to, and select their profile.

Select the type of vehicle transfer you'd like to perform. Typically with vehicles on incorrect customer profiles, you will want to choose the third option, Transfer Vehicle, DVI History, Job History & Invoices, but this may vary depending on the particular situation.

Click Confirm to transfer the vehicle and its history.
- If the vehicle was already present on the recipient customer’s profile, browse to the recipient’s profile, click the three dots next to one of the instances of that vehicle, and select Merge Vehicles. Continue with the merge operation to combine the two instances into one.
Incorrect Customer/Incorrect Vehicle
- Browse to the RO.

In the dark grey sidebar on the right, click the pencil next to Customer Info. This will open the Edit Customer window.

At the bottom of the Edit Customer window, click on Change Customer. This will open the Change Customer on RO window. Note that if any jobs are present on the RO, you may receive a warning stating that the labor and parts may not match the vehicle you’re going to transfer this to.

In the Customer field, type in the name, phone, or email of the customer you want to assign the RO to, and select their name from the list. If the customer does not already exist in your customer list, you can use the Add New Customer button to add them.
- In the Vehicle dropdown, select the vehicle you want to assign this RO to. If the vehicle does not already exist on the customer’s profile, you can use the Add New Vehicle button to add it.

If all fields look correct, click Confirm. This will transfer the RO to the correct customer and vehicle.
